Gross Salary Scale: As per NPSC Salary Scale

Leave allowance: As existing in the Commission

Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year

Medical Cover: As existing in the Commission

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

Duties and Responsibilities

Drive the Commission Vehicles assigned;

Safeguard security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;

Maintain the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the Commission vehicles assigned;

Secure safety of the passengers and/or goods;

Report and document accidents and incidents to the transport officer;

Carry out routine checks on the functionality and maintenance of the vehicles;

Detect and report malfunctioning/defects of vehicles;

Enter and maintain work tickets for vehicles allocated;

Fuel assigned vehicle and safeguard the motor vehicle fuel card against theft, fraud and misuse;

Report to the transport officer on challenges encountered on the road in the course of work;

Maintain proper monthly service sheet or logbook; and

Follow prescribed routes and carry authorized passengers and goods.

Requirements for Appointment

Driving experience for at least two (2) years;

Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain)or its equivalent;

A valid class B, C1, C, driving license free from any current endorsement;

Undergone a suitability test from Chief Mechanical Department;

First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology or any other recognized institution;

Valid Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
