3.0 Principal Examinations Administrator: KNEC Scale EC 13
The Officer will report to the Deputy Director, Field Administration Services.
3.1 Requirements for Appointment: 3.1.1 Masters Degree in Education in a relevant field from a recognized institution; 3.1.2 Served in the grade of Senior Examinations Administrator for three (3) years or in an equivalent and relevant position OR have a cumulative working experience of at least fifteen (15) years in a related field. Those below Job group ‘N’ in Government or TSC or its equivalent need not apply;
3.1.3 Must have evidence of knowledge and proficiency in Computer Applications;
3.1.4 Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and Integrity; 2.3.1 Senior Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution will be an added advantage;
3.2 Duties and Responsibilities
3.2.1 Estimate and present logistical requirements of examinations administration; 3.2.2 Track and record progress in performance of tasks;
3.2.3 Receive and process coursework assessment and project marks and prepare relevant circulars for data capture instructions;
3.2.4 Process exemptions courses and handling of referral cases;
3.2.5 Undertake receipt and storage of marked scripts;
3.2.6 Process examinations results;
3.2.7 Arrange for supervision and invigilation of examinations;
3.2.8 Facilitate briefing and post mortem meetings with field officers, centre organizers, external assessors and chief examiners;
3.2.9 Organize marking centres;
3.2.10 Facilitate appraisal, training, development and discipline of examiners;
3.2.11 Facilitate payments for contracted professionals.

4.0 Subject Officer II: (Biology/Chemistry): KNEC Scale EC 10
The officer will report to a Head of Section in Test Development Department.
4.1 Requirements for Appointment:
4.1.1 Bachelors Degree in Education specializing in Biology;
4.1.2 Masters degree in Education in the relevant area from a recognized institution; 4.1.3 Not less than ten (10) years of teaching experience in Secondary or Post Secondary Institution teaching Biology as a major subject or related assignment;
4.1.4 Must have undergone SMASSE training; 4.1.5 Must have evidence of knowledge and proficiency in Computer Applications;
4.1.6 Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Kenyan Constitution on Leadership and Integrity.
4.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
The Officer will be responsible for the planning, organizing, programming and coordinating the development of Biology Examination papers and other related disciplines.
4.3 Skills and Competencies
4.3.1 Ability to portray and uphold positive national image and work in a multi-
cultural and multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity;
4.3.2 Being visionary and result oriented thinker;
4.3.3 Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;

5.1.4 Evidence of being well grounded in theory and application of Examinations Administration, Psychometrics, Curriculum Design and Educational Assessment, Research, Setting, Marking and Moderation of Mathematical examinations;
5.1.5 Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on Leadership and Integrity; 5.1.6 Evidence of proficiency and knowledge in Computer Applications.
5.2 Duties and Responsibilities:
The Officer will be responsible for the planning, organizing, programming and coordinating the development of Mathematics Examination papers and other related disciplines.
