Kenya Medical Research Institute Nurse Counselors Jobs in Thika Kenya

A KEMRI –CCR Clinical Trials Research Project is currently conducting clinical trials and is looking
for motivated individuals to fill in the following position:

Position:

Nurse Counselors M/R 7 (2 positions)
Location:

Thika
Reports to:

Study Coordinator.

Job purpose

To assist in screening and enrolment of clients into the study and in data collection

Responsibilities

Screening of participants to determine eligibility for study

Explaining study procedures to eligible participants

Obtaining informed consent and enrolment of participants into study

Obtaining information from participants and filling in participant forms

Demonstrating use of HIV self-testing kits to study participants

Timely abstraction of data from participant forms

Providing project management team with regular feedback on field activities

Verify quality of data by comparing abstracted data to source documents

Responds to participant’s calls

Follow up of participants through phone calls

Performs other duties as may be assigned

Education and Experience

Diploma in nursing, clinical medicine or any other health related field

Experience working in a Comprehensive Care Centre (CCC) will be an added advantage

Past experience in electronic data collection using Redcap is desirable

Experience in HIV testing and certified by NASCOP

Prior GCP and Human subjects training is desirable

Experience working in clinical research setting is an added advantage

Licensure

Registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya

Ability to work without supervision

Terms of employment

Employment is a one year renewable contract with a probation period for the first 3 months. Salary
is negotiable within the appropriate grade depending on education, experience and demonstrated
competency.
