Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstalling and maintaining computer systems.
Analyzing, designing, coding, testing and implementing computer programs.
Configuring local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN).
Providing user support.
Developing and updating application systems.
Carrying out systems analysis, design and programme specifications in liaison
with users.
Drawing up hardware specifications for information communication technology
equipment.
User and systems support and logging of incidents.
Verifying, validating and certifying information communication technology
equipment.
Ensuring effective working of systems for efficient service delivery.
Configuring new information communication technology equipment.
Implementing systems and network security.
Job Specification
For appointment to this grade an officer must:-
Have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in relevant work in the Public Service or in the Private Sector.
Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: Information Technology,
Computer Science/Engineering, Business Information Technology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized Institution.
Have certification from relevant professional bodies in either CCNA, N+, A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
Show merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.

Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations
Clearance/Compliance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya
Revenue Authority
Clearance from Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Clearance from recognized Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
Suitably qualified candidates are advised to download and complete the Candidates’ Profile and
Application Form (from the ‘Vacancies’ section at www.leathercouncil.go.ke) indicating the Job
Reference Number on the Job Application Form and send to kldc.jobadverts@gmail.com
attaching certified copies of academic certificates and professional qualifications and National
ID. Hand-delivered application can also be dropped at the Council’s Reception Desk located at
CPA Centre, 5th Floor, Thika Road, next to KCA University.
