The Kenya Institute of Supplies Management is a body corporate establishedthrough the Supplies Practitioners Management Act (SPMA) 2007. KISMismandated to make provision for the training, registration andlicensingofsupplies practitioners; to regulate their practice and for connected purposes.

The Institute serves as the National body for Procurement and SupplyChainProfessionals in the private and public sectors in Kenya. The KISM Council seeks to recruit a visionary, dynamic and innovative leaderwithhigh professional and ethical standards to fill the position of the Chief Executive Officer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providingstrategicleadership, driving business growth, ensuring operational efficiency, promotingcorporate image and enhancing brand visibility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Shall be the Accounting Officer of the Institute

Overseeing the training, registration and licensing of supplies practitionersiii. Providing strategic leadership and direction

Guiding the development and implementation of relevant policiesandprocedures that enhance KISM’s positive image, brand perceptionandcompetitive advantage

Execution and communication of the Council’s strategies, policiesdecisionsand resolutions

Coordinating resource mobilization to enhance realization of the Institute’s strategic plan objectives

Fostering relationship with relevant government agencies, ministries,development partners and other stakeholders for the benefit of theInstitute

Prudent management of all available resources of the Institute;

Ensuring adherence to relevant national and international conventions and treaties

Engendering good corporate governance practices in line with the Constitution of Kenya 2010;

Coordinating the preparation of the budget, procurement plans, annual workplans, operational and financial reports for consideration and approval by the Council

Ensuring compliance with Government policies, circulars, regulatory guidelines and directives and providing regular updates to the Council.

Inculcating an entrepreneurial and business mindset to ensure diversification & optimization of resources

Delivering results while maintaining a good

corporate culture by buildinga professional and achievement oriented Executive Management team,nurturing and maintaining a performance driven, ethical, fairandmeritocratic corporate culture

Provide leadership in the day-to-day business and ensure acompetent,efficient and motivated human capital for enhanced productivity and organizational performance

Required Qualifications

Must be a Kenyan Citizen

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and Logistics or inabusiness-related field from a recognized institution.

Masters’ Degree in Supply Chain Management, Strategic Management orinabusiness-related field from a recognized institution.

Be a Certified Procurement & Supplies Professional of Kenya(CPSP)qualification administered by KISEB or equivalent recognized institute, andbea full member of KISM in good standing with a valid Practicing license.

At least Fifteen (15) years of work experience of which five (5) yearsshouldbeat senior management.

Has undergone Corporate Governance and/or Leadership Training.

The successful candidate should satisfy the requirements of chapter sixof theConstitution of Kenya 2010 on leadership.
