Introduction

Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) was established in 1954 as a premier institute that provides management consultancy and capacity building services to corporate organizations and other institutions. The institute has embarked on an aggressive expansion and growth programme in line with its strategic plan 2017-2020.(2017 – 2021) To deliver this mandate KIM has recently concluded a reorganization and seeks to fill the position of Strategy and Development Officer

Responsibilities

  • Manage the member life-cycle from recruitment, renewal process and member benefit administration through vetting, processing of certificates and membership certificates.
  • Respond to inquiries pertaining KIM product and services for customer satisfaction
  • Convert live leads into business through making follow ups
  • Collect, compile and process alumni data to be able to constantly communicate on KIM activities.
  • Shortlist alumni for profiling to be used in promotion of the institute.
  • Ensure that branches develop, plan and implement value add non-academic activities for students.
  • Participate in preparation for Business committee meetings.
  • Coordinate students attachments in partnership with the corporate to give them work exposure
  • Participate in marketing campaigns to get leads for follow up
  • Coordinate staff at the call centres to ensure smooth running of the operations.
  • Organise membership committee meetings and coordinate logistics around the membership events and activities
  • Manage member lifecycle from recruitment to renewal process
  • Work closely with the departments across the institute to maximize engagement with membership recruitment strategy
  • Coordinate members recruitment at the branches
  • Assist in organizing the membership committee meetings and coordinate logistics around membership events and activities such as fellows luncheons, corporate breakfast ,women in leadership dinner and communities of practice
  • Work closely with other departments across the institute to maximize engagement with membership recruitment strategy
  • Coordinate members’ recruitment by the branches through processing of their applications.
  • Actively engage in marketing membership to be able to be able to meet the set recruitment targets.
  • Review membership benefits to be able to satisfy members’ needs through meeting their expectation.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce(Marketing) or Business
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience in service marketing

  • Book and confirm appointments for the Executive Director with internal and external clients to ensure all items and business related matters are timely addressed.
  • Prepare meeting venues and facilitate the Executive Committee members’ meeting to ensure a smooth flow of activities.
  • Supervise the cleaning of the ED’s office and oversee its management to ensure high hygiene standards are maintained for conducive environment.
  • Take minutes in Board of Fellows meetings and circulate to members of the board after approval.
  • Provide logistical support in planning and coordinating council meeting together with Executive Director and Company Secretary to ensure timely readiness for all meetings.
  • Maintain an efficient information and records system within the ED’s office and provide a confidential and efficient filing system for future reference.
  • Advice the Executive Director on impending work and on deadlines for internal and external commitments to ensure all matters are timely addressed.

    Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field from a recognised
    institution.
  • Five (5) years of experience having worked in a comparable position.

    Responsibilities

  • Recruit organisations to sign up for the OPI process to facilitate the award of the year.
  • Plan the benchmarking program and recruit the delegates to generate revenue.
  • Schedule and coordinate key departmental events example the intercompany visits and Company of the year award to ensure all the stakeholders achieve their objectives.
  • Maintain efficient filing system, databases, client information and any necessary documentation for efficient functioning of the secretariat.
  • Target companies and organisations for potential partnership or sponsorship opportunities to support the institution’s revenue generation.
  • Plan, Schedule and coordinate company assessments for COYA (Company of the Year Award) and SMOYA (SME of the Year Award) to have a successful assessment exercise.
  • Support the OPI technical team to achieve the OPI mandate.
  • Prepare project proposals, RFPs and prequalification to generate business for the institute.
  • Gathering market intelligence and creatively developing strategies to explore OPI business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain excellent level of product knowledge and provide one stop solution to clients’ queries regarding business excellence (COYA).

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in relevant field from a recognised institution
  • Three (3) years of relevant work experience
