Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Trade Mark Assistant, the Trade Mark Assistant II will be responsible for:

Attending to enquiries from clients;

Receiving applications;

Capturing data into the computer system;

Scanning, indexing and uploading of document into computer system;

Preparing certificates;

Updating trade mark and geographical indication registers;

Compiling data and information for publication;

Filing correspondences and user documents; and

Any other duty that may be assigned.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

Satisfactorily served in the grade of Clerical Officer in the Institute for a minimum period of three (3) years;

Certificate of Proficiency Examination for Clerical Officers;

Computer competency; and

Must meet the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
