Brief Description The candidate Conduct all technical courses within His/her discipline as required to meet the needs of Kenya Airways and customer operators.
Detailed Description
Principal Accountabilities (Responsibility)
Prepare and update training manuals/training notes to ensure that up-to date information is delivered to maintenance personnel.
Conduct basic aircraft systems training to Maintenance personnel to enable them to acquire KCAA/EASA basic licences without type rating.
Prepare, administer and mark basic trial (LWTR) examinations for maintenance personnel to assess the training and knowledge impacted
Conduct and coordinate OJT activities for maintenance personnel
Prepare, review, administer and mark the relevant basic and aircraft type examinations for the aircraft maintenance personnel to assess the training and knowledge acquired.
Prepare progress and assessment reports on course participants for follow up and recommendations to the manager, technical training.
Prepare and conduct regulatory initial, refresher and continuation courses for maintenance personnel to enable them to obtain and sustain maintenance licenses / approvals from KCAA/EASA and Kenya airways
Conduct transit authorization courses (A-rating) for Technicians with LWTR so that they are authorized to handle transit checks.
Coach and mentor apprentices and graduate trainees
Prepare and conduct modular courses as need arises to meet business requirements
Coordinate and administer the apprenticeship and graduate trainee programs to ensure successful completion.
Conduct any other relevant courses to other Kenya Airways staff as need arises
Job Requirements
Qualification (Minimum)
Aeronautical/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic degree or HND from a recognized institution.
At least one basic KCAA or equivalent maintenance license.
Instructional Techniques.
Basic Aircraft mechanical/Electrical and Avionics Systems course.
Computer literacy with
a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs.
Demonstrated aviation maintenance experience of at least 5 years.
Demonstrated aviation Instructional experience of at least 2 years.
Demonstrated experience in basic course content delivery.
Demonstrated experience in setting, conducting and managing basic examinations.
Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and revising training curriculum.
In-depth knowledge of KCARs, EASA, FAA and other relevant National Airworthiness Authorities regulations.
Good Working knowledge of all manuals and documents used in aircraft maintenance.
Other Skills
Adaptable to work in multi culture environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collect data, analyze and produce training slides/notes.
Ability to champion Safety, health and security
Preparedness to undertake training as required.
Ability to perform and think clearly under high pressure situations and able to make critical decisions based on personal knowledge, experience and judgment.
Ability to work both independently and within a flexible team environment.
Knowledge in Human factors in aviation maintenance.
Demonstrated ability to research and evaluate training needs.
Good facilitation skills and presentation skills.
Excellent presentation Skills.
