Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest) is a State Corporation whose mandate is to
promote and facilitate private investment by both domestic and international investors.
The
Authority is seeking to recruit a suitable candidate for the position of General Manager,
Investor Services.
This is a senior position at the second highest scale.

General Manager
Reports to:
Managing Director
Job Purpose:
To identify, attract, facilitate and retain investments for economic development.
Roles and Responsibilities
Advising management on all investment promotion, facilitation and after
care services.
Initiating development of policies on operations and management of the
One Stop Centre.
Approving budget, work plans and programme for the department.
Approving for dissemination research reports and findings.
Developing and strengthening linkages with development partners.
Link between the County Government and management on investment and
promotion issues.
Formulating and implementing investment policies and procedures for
facilitation and aftercare services.
Ensuring efficient and effective dissemination of information on investment
environment to create awareness and enhance Kenya’s image.
Establishing and maintaining contacts and good relations with potential
investors and businesses locally and internationally.
Ensuring provision of effective After Care Services to new and existing
investment projects.
Approving the performance targets for the department and overseeing the
implementation of performance targets.
Tracking and keeping data for performance management.
Handling some operational activities like signing of cheque (s) through
Board approval.
Providing business advisory services to local and foreign investors
Identifying staff training and development needs.
Participating in management committees, supervision of junior staff and
other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.
Job Specification:
Education and Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited University with an
emphasis in Economics, Business, Marketing, Communication, Social
Sciences or in a related field.
Professional Qualification & Membership where applicable.
Leadership Course lasting not less than 4 weeks from recognized institution.
Skills and experience:
12 year’s work experience with a minimum of 5 years in a senior
management position in areas of investment, marketing and business
advisory in the public sector
or a recognized and reputable private firm.
Knowledge in project management, identification, selection, appraisal,
implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Proven knowledge and experience of marketing strategies and action plans.
Conversant with government economic recovery programmes, economic
integration initiatives (EAC, COMESA, WTO, EU, AGOA, NEPAD, etc).
International exposure in related field.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate management skills and Excellent analytical skills.
Demonstrate results in work performance.
Meet the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
Proficiency in computer applications.
Key Performance Indicators
Number of and speed at which investor enquires are addressed.
Projects approved and volume of investments.
Average period taken to approve each project.
After care visits, concerns and resolutions.
Joint venture partnerships actualized.
Operational and strengthened One Stop Centre.
Level of investor retention.
Customer satisfaction level.
Staff cohesion and productivity
How to Apply
Qualified

Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
The documents are: Tax Compliance Certificate, Clearance
from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission
(EACC) and Credit Reference Bureau.
