KEMRI Psychiatric Nurse Jobs in Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Research Project: Collaborate with the research team to develop and implement research protocols, including recruiting participants, obtaining informed consent, and collecting data

Data Collection Perform assessments, interviews, and other data collection activities with study participants.

Patient Care: Provide compassionate and comprehensive care to participants involved in research studies. Monitor their mental health status, administer treatments as needed, and ensure their safety and well-being throughout the study.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of research activities, including participant data, study procedures, and adverse events. Prepare reports, presentations, and publications to communicate research findings to the scientific community.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, research assistants and investigators. Communicate research progress, findings, and challenges in team meetings and research conferences.

Ethical Compliance: Adhere to ethical guidelines and regulatory standards governing human subjects research

Reporting: Reports to study coordinator

Vacancy Requirements:

Diploma in Nursing (BSN or KRCHN) from an accredited institution.

Registration with Nursing council

Certified training in psychiatry from

an accredited institution.

Experience working in psychiatric or mental health settings, preferably in a research capacity.

Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, assessment tools, and evidence-based treatments.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.

Commitment to ethical conduct and compliance with regulatory requirements in research.

Strong analytical ability, planning, and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work with multi-skilled teams.
