KEMRI Study Nurse (1 position) Jobs

Location: Migori County
Qualifications and ExperienceDiploma in Nursing (KRCHN) (Degree in nursing is an added advantage)
At least 3 years of research work experience in both clinical and medical research
Good report writing skills is mandatory.
Very good knowledge of MS Office package is required.
Training in Good Clinical Research Practices is an added advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities
Ensure relevant tools are available to the CHVs
Monitor and evaluate the consenting process and address any matters arising accordingly
Ensure accurate records and reports and maintain their safety as required
Link up with other program leaders in empowering and motivating PTBI affiliated CHVs on a regular basis through trainings
Address on-site challenges raised by CHVs
Desired Characteristics
Must demonstrate leadership skills
Keen and ability to work well within a team and independently with minimal supervision and be able to develop on the job
Excellent organizational skills and ability to determine priorities and meet multiple deadlines
Flexibility, ability to adapt to a changing and challenging environment

Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Clinical Medicine (CO)
Higher National Diploma in Paediatrics is an added advantage
At least 3 years of work experience both in clinical and in medical research
Very good knowledge of MS Office package is required.
Training in Good Clinical Research Practices is an added advantage.
Roles and Responsibilities
Strengthen clinical care of preterm babies
Ensure research participants are followed up for study end points
Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

KEMRI Assistant Data Manager (1 position) Jobs

Location: Migori County
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, applied statistics or Biostatistics
Good knowledge of Microsoft office especially Access, Excel and Word.
At least 3 years experience in research with evidence of data handling.
Some level of leadership skills is an added advantage
Knowledge of health systems, preferably knowledge of Maternal and Child Health (MCH) and training in Good Clinical Research Practices are added advantage.
Knowledge of Ministry of Health national data collection and reporting tools is a plus.
Ability to design and create databases.
Responsibilities
Conduct data entry of the participant’s data from the health
facilities.
Perform data quality checks on the source documents in the health facilities.
Conduct data management activities in response to data queries as needed.
Preparation of regular data reports.
Support the data managers in all their duties.

Diploma in Community Health/ Health Records and Information Technology or any other health related field
At least 1 year experience in research work especially in public health or medical field
Degree in Biostatistics or Statistics is an added advantage
Good knowledge of Microsoft office especially Access, Excel and Word.
Experience with data base creation is an added advantage
Knowledge of health system is an added advantage
Responsibilities

Conduct data management activities in response to data queries as needed.
Support the data managers in their duties.

Ability to speak fluent English.
