The Manager, Accounts and Expenditure will be responsible for preparing periodic and annual financial reports and cash flow projections and monitoring bank accounts
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance
ResponsibilitiesOverseeing the preparation of the quarterly, half yearly and annual financial statements.
Ensuring timely preparation of monthly trial balances.
Preparing quarterly reports on financial performance to the National Treasury.
Verifying and approving monthly bank reconciliation statements and investigating any outstanding items for remedial action.
Ensuring safe custody of cash and other accountable documents in the section.
Verifying payment vouchers.
Handling correspondences from banks, students and other institutions.
Liaising with external auditors during audits and responding to audit queries.
Ensuring risk management within the area of operation.
Ensuring implementation of ISO Quality Management System in the area of operation
Ensuring staff performance management in the section through a target-based system.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognised university.
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or related field from a recognised university.
CPA graduate.
Be a member in good standing of ICPAK.
A minimum of seven (7)years relevant experience six (6) of which should be in middle level management in finance in a large organisation and six (6) years relevant experience as Senior Officer, Finance, for serving officers

Have a thorough knowledge of financial management and accounting standards.
Be knowledgeable on computerized financial/accounting applications.
Be honest, trustworthy and possess a high degree of personal integrity and professionalism.
Have demonstrated leadership qualities and management capability for responsibilities at this level.
Be a team player.
Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with varied stakeholders.
Be customer centric.
Demonstrate sound judgment, excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation and reporting skills.
Satisfy the provisions of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

2 Positions

Overall purpose
The Senior Officer, Examinations Development,will participate in the moderation of examination question papers and other related examinations matters.
Reporting to the Manager, Examinations Development and Research
Job Responsibilities
Identifying and vetting potential examination setters.
Ensuring the safe custody of all examination question papers.
Ensuring that all examination question papers are moderated, reviewed, proofread and typed.
Participating in the printing of examinations.
Conducting periodic risk assessment in relation to the examination development function.
Ensuring that there is an adequate bank of examination question papers.
Participating in review of syllabuses and preparation of pilot papers.
Ensuring that all examination officers and examiners are properly trained in setting and moderation of examination questions.
Ensuring risk management in the area of operation.
Ensuring the implementation of the ISO Quality Management System in the area of operation.
Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Education ,Information Communication Technology, Law, Social Studies or related discipline from a recognised university.
Master’s degree in related field will be an added advantage.
KASNEB graduate.
Membership in good standing to ICPAK, ICPSK, ICIFA,ICM-K for KASNEB graduates or any other professional institute like IHRM, LSK.
A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience three (3) of which should be in examinations research and development activities in middle level management in a large organisation and three (3) years relevant experience as Examinations Officer for serving officers
