Kapsabet High Tops in KCSE Exam for Second Year
Kapsabet High School, for the second year running topped in the KCSE exam after posting a mean score of 10.690.
The average mean grade of the school's 461 candidates was A(-) minus.
In the 2021 KCSE exam results which were released on Saturday, 104 students in the school got A plain, 191 scored A-, 54 students scored B plain, 12 had B- and one student scored a C+.
Seventeen candidates scored A plain of 84 marks, placing them in the most competitive courses in university.
Most of them said they want to pursue medicine.
Teddy Victor Mutinda, who scored A plain, said he wished to pursue a degree in biotechnology engineering.
Speaking to the Star on the phone from home in Kitui, he said he is happy with the results.
Mutinda thanked teachers and the administration of Kapsabet High for the support that enabled him to realise his dream.
Fortune Scott, who also scored A of 84 marks, said he wants to pursue medicine in university.
