Kampala Capital City Authority Director Gender, Community Services and Production Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or other related field, plus a Master’s Degree in either Gender; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or any other related course from a recognized University or Institution.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience five (5) of which should have been gained at Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Executive Director for performing the following duties:-

Planning, developing and monitoring the implementation of sustainable socio- economic strategy for gender and the youth including equity opportunities and programs and empowerment of with the adequate knowledge skills, resources for sustenance of self and families in the City.

Developing, designing and evaluating the effectiveness of programs for raising awareness and empowerment of People-With- Disabilities and the Elderly.

Developing and monitoring the implementation of Poverty Eradication / Alleviation Programs including the functional adult literacy, income generating projects / gainful

employment opportunities, and diversification and marketing of the agriculture and fisheries.

Planning and enforcing the Social and Labour Legislation to protect the working class and regulate the relations between the workers and their employers.

Developing and monitoring the provision of appropriate legal measures for the protection of human rights of all City Citizens and provide legal-aid services to the under privileged where human rights have been violated and need protection.

Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
