Kampala Capital City Authority Deputy Director Roads and Drainage Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualification

Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Civil Engineering; or Construction Management; or any other related field plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants should be registered with a relevant professional body.

Working Experience

Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience of which three (3) must have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties

The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Engineering for performing the following duties:-

Developing and monitoring the implementation of roads, drainages and bridges construction, street lights management and maintenance policies and procedures as per the Authority Mandate.

Reviewing and approving road engineering designs and studies for operations and capital development works in accordance with engineering best practices and National design standards

Coordinating the developing and maintenance of feeder roads as the Authority road construction plan

Supervising the implementation of road, drainages and bridges construction and maintenance contract works in

accordance with the terms and conditions of contracts

Developing and implementing programs for routine and periodic road maintenance and works throughout the Authority.

Coordinating and controlling the development and implementation of departmental operational plans in accordance with the corporation strategic plans, policies and procedures.

Designing and coordinating the repair of the city motor vehicles and machinery in line with the Authority management policies.

Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines.

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
