Job DescriptionKAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia.
It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations. The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Senior HR Officer position:
General Duties and Responsibilities
Receives employment requisitions identifies vacant jobs; prioritizes vacancies, recommends by way of transfer, promotion or recruitment as appropriate; carries out preliminary screening and short listing of job applicants for further consideration and action by recruitment committee; processes personnel functions of placement, orientation, compensation, appraisal, transfer, promotion, discipline, termination and social security of the company; lodges personnel actions related to attendance, discipline and other human resource administration matters; monitors and evaluates the industrial relation of the company and recommends courses of action; examines matters of employee turnover, absenteeism, tardiness and other related personnel problems; administers employees’ salaries and wages, incentive systems, allowance, transport, educational, medical, insurance and overall welfare, safety and benefit packages of the company’s human resource; administers various leave entitlements as per the personnel policy of the company.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies vacant jobs recommending transfer of employees, promotion or recruitment as appropriate.
Prepares vacancy announcements, receives employment requisitions and shortlists applicants.
Drafts personnel actions pertaining to appointment, transfer, promotion, suspension and employment contract terminations and related letters.
Carries out preliminary screening and short listing of job applicants for further consideration and action by the immediate supervisor;
Processes other personnel functions of placement, orientation, compensation, appraisal, transfer, promotion, discipline, termination and social security of the Company in consultation with immediate supervisor;
Performs orientation in relation to the mission, vision/objective, organizational setup, policies, procedures, and other milestones of the Company;
Follows up and facilitates subsequent personnel formalities of newly recruited employees; completes such employment formalities as employment or contract agreement form, pre-employment medical examination and other relevant formalities;
Deals with settlement of complaints and disputes in accordance with established grievance procedures; receives and examines appeal letters,
Investigates grievance and offense cases and recommends solutions accordingly;
organizes and summarizes and maintains reliable statistical data compiled from employees' personal files for supporting timely and sound personnel actions;
Follows up the implementation of performance appraisal system in
place in the Company;
Lodges personnel actions related to attendance, discipline and other human resource administration matters with proper evidences as per pertinent rules and regulations of the company.
Follows up the statuses of correspondence matters of the work unit; facilitates and follows up liaison issues of human resource administration;
Examines matters of employee turnover, absenteeism, tardiness and other related personnel problems in order to find out the causes and solutions to the problems;
Registers employees’ salaries and wages, incentive systems, allowance, transport, educational, medical, insurance and overall welfare, safety and benefit packages of the Company’s human resource;
Initiates and recommends new or revised regulations on human resource administration matters of the Company;
Tours branches on assignments of human resource administration matters and reports on outcomes accordingly;
Administers annual leave, medical leave, maternity leave and other legitimate leaves as per the personnel policy of the Company;
Follows up the progresses of recruits put under probation and reports feedback;
Follows up the contractual matters of employees engaged by the company through temporary forms of employment; initiates renewal or termination of employment thereon;
Prepares personnel action forms including employment, transfer, termination, promotion, salary increment and the like; amends records as required;
Takes and keeps minutes of recruitment and promotion process; notifies selected applicants and prepares the necessary letters;
Organizes and processes employee data, and verifies accuracy and consistency by checking references;
Prepares performance reports and presents to superior for review;
Performs other related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Job Requirements
Qualification
B.A. Degree or Diploma in Human Resource or Management or Business Administration or related field of studies
Work Experience
4 years for B.A. Degree or 6 years for Diploma relevant work experience
Required Competence
Experienced in using computer application with good communication and interpersonal skills
