Job DescriptionKAKI PLC is an official dealer and assembler of ISUZU in Ethiopia.
It is also engaged in different business lines including import, export, metal fabrication, after sales services, and cargo freight transport operations.
The company wishes to employ a qualified professional for the Inventory Planning & Control Division Head position:
General Duties and Responsibilities
Establish and implement inventory planning and control systems and procedures that will assist in determining the optimal level of stock and timing of inventory for the purpose of aligning it with company sales and production capacity, and thereby to maintain positive cash flow as well as a good profit margins while ensuring physical inventory balances with figures in the accounting books through carefully planned periodic and perpetual inventory systems.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and supervise the entire inventory planning and control activities of the company.
Develop the company’s inventory management strategy with the aim of controlling costs, generating savings, rationalizing inventory and maximizing available working capital.
Develop and implement improvements to existing operational procedures in order to maximize efficiency and cut operations costs.
Develop inventory control systems to ensure the company minimizes stock holding and maximizes stock system and paperwork accuracy.
Write and maintain accurate written procedures for all inventory control processes and functions to ensure integrity and accuracy of the stock management system.
Plan to ensure that adequate stock is maintained for critical items which could affect the day to-day operation of the company.
Monitor overall perpetual and periodic inventory stock counting and accuracy checks.
Implement automated inventory system for keeping track of inventory on a perpetual basis to ensure items are accounted for, and inflow and outflow status is updated on a continual basis.
Oversee inventory and supply chain management according to company guidelines.
Review documentation and monitor product codes to search for discrepancies; troubleshoot quantity discrepancies between stock and records.
Manage reconciliations of stock items with the records of the Finance Department on a regular basis.
Coordinate staff members to review requisitions, receive reports, issue vouchers and follows up their timely recording in the proper cards or registers.
Ensure that fixed assets are numbered and issued to those who are authorized to use them.
Manage maintenance of records of receipts
as well as issuance of items that are going in and out of the warehouse so as to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Monitor inventory levels of stock and ensure optimal supplies are maintained at all times.
Take responsibility for working with purchasing, goods inwards and dispatch to ensure necessary functions are carried out correctly.
Manage and maintain the company’s material and stocked product inventory including stock profiles and stock locations.
Manage to minimize overstocks and removal of obsolete or redundant raw materials to maximize availability of working capital.
Liaise with the store management people to ensure storage is well organized and controlled to sufficiently support production and sales goals of the company.
Monitor that any materials that are late or holding up production for whatever reason are properly pursued and followed up until received.
Implement improvement processes and systems to reduce inventory, minimize costs and maximize working capital.
Monitor regular stock movement and stock position reports and make necessary decisions accordingly.
Ensure that reports identify critical areas of the stock movements, system works efficiently to control stocks and any discrepancies are addressed and resolved.
Manage control measures to ensure mistakes, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted, addressed and resolved.
Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized production work environment through consistent application of 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
Identify training needs of employees, and recommend the type of training required to be conducted.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification
M.A. Degree or B.A. Degree in Procurement & Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Management or related field of studies
Work Experience
year for M.A. Degree or 10 Years for B.A. Degree with relevant work experience
Required Competence
Good Computer Application skill, communication skill (both verbal and written), and experience with enterprise planning software platforms (ERP), and understanding of accounting or finance.
