Duties and Responsibilities

An Officer at this level will be deployed in specific sections i.e. Crop Production, Land Development or Project Management, within a Sub-County. Specific duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:

Prepare and implement farm business plans through analysis of various enterprises; and

Monitor and advise on adoption of agricultural technologies.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -

Served in the grade of Assistant Agricultural Officer II, Job Group CPSB 10/’J’ for at least three (3) years;

Diploma in any of the following fields; Agriculture, Food Technology, Agriculture and Home Economics, Agricultural Education, Horticulture or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade C and above or its equivalent;

Attended a Departmental training course in Participatory Approaches or Supervision will be added advantage; and

Shown merit as reflected in work performance and results.
