Kahama Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KASHWASA) is a public Authority established and operates in accordance with the Waterworks (Cap.272) and Water Supply and Sanitation Act, 2019.
The Authority’s major roles are to produce water from Lake Victoria, treat and supply in bulk to consumers who are mainly the Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities and Community Based Water Organisations.
The Authority supplies bulk water to 83 Water Based Supply Organisations (CBWSO), 8 Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities (WSSA) and 2 mining companies.
The served WSSA are Shinyanga, Kahama, Ngudu, Kishapu, Tabora, Igunga, Nzega and Maganzo, the served CBWSO are located in Misungwi, Kwimba, Shinyanga, Kishapu, Msalala. Nzega, Igunga, Uyui, and Tabora Districts. The mining companies are in Kishapu District.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Inspecting transmission and reporting any deviation;
• Repairing water leakages;
• Reporting uncounted for water loss and recommending necessary rectification;
• Reporting on unauthorized water connection;
• Carrying out water disconnection and reconnection timely ;
• Keeping proper record of water connection/reconnection/disconnection carried out.
• Opening and closing sectional valves;
• Reporting of water pipes burst;
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Qualification and Eexperience
Form IV Certificate with Trade Test Grade II in Plumbing and pipe fittings from recognized Training Institution.
