KNP/2022/5: Security Officer (1 post)
Terms of Service: KNP/7 (Permanent)
Salary Scale: KShs 38,270 × 1,470 – 39,740 × 1,520 – 41,260 × 1,710 – 42,970 × 1,920 - 44,890 ×
2000 - 46,890 × 2,110 – 49,000 × 2,170 - 51,170 p.m.
House Allowance: As applicable in Nairobi County
a) Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
Carrying out investigation of all security cases in the Polytechnic.
Compiling data from suggestion box and security reports as well as collecting and
gathering intelligence report.
Supervising staff under them and overseeing the services of contracted Security Firm.
Ensure security of all visitors to the Polytechnic and making report thereof including
enforcement of traffic discipline within the Polytechnic.
Making regular security surveys/reports summaries on polytechnic security.
Preventing and reporting any theft or loss of polytechnic properties in consultation with relevant law enforcement agencies.
Monitoring vehicles movement and assist the administrator in charge of transport on security of the Polytechnic vehicles e.g., parking places, accidents, inspections etc.
Assisting coordinating with relevant law enforcement agencies in investigation of all
security cases in regard to the
Polytechnic.
b) Requirements for Appointment
For requirements to this appointment an officer must have: -
Served in the National Police Service or Disciplined Forces for a period not less than
7 years and served at the rank of an Inspector of Police or equivalent rank.
Have Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade of D+ and above from Kenya National Examination Council or its equivalent qualification from a recognized examining body.
Be a Kenyan citizen, physically and medically fit.
Have no criminal record.
