Job Description: Major Tasks, Responsibilities

As a Designer for Jumia Travel, you will be part of a self-motivated, technical, creative and business oriented team. Your responsibilities and typical activities include:

Manage more than one design brief at a time

Developing design briefs that suit the internal client's purpose;

Thinking creatively to produce new ideas and concepts and developing interactive design;

Using innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time;

Presenting high quality finalized ideas and concepts to internal clients or stakeholders.

Working with a range of media and keeping up to date with emerging technologies;

Demonstrating illustrative skills with rough sketches and working on layouts ready for print;

Working as part of a team with other designers, account executives, web developers and marketing specialists.

Meeting internal clients to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job;

List of Design required: Web Design (banners, dynamic banners, and static pages), Motion Design, Infographic, emails, Pictures sourcing.

Profile requirements

Apart from technical and drawing skills, you will need to show:

Passion and enthusiasm for design, with a creative flair;

High skills on Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and a bit of CSS, HTML and javascript

Excellent communication skills in English in order to interpret and explain briefs with internal clients;

Time management skills and the ability to cope with several projects at a time;

Accuracy and attention to detail when finalizing designs;

Being open to feedback and willing to make changes to your designs;

Job Description: Major Tasks, Responsibilities

As a HTML Developer for Jumia Travel, you will be part of a self-motivated, highly analytical, technical and business-oriented team. Your responsibilities include:

To code static pages and other type of digital needs using html & CSS skills

Deployment of overall email communications with customers;

Managing email templates and updating email contents using email HTML skills;

Ensuring all email responsiveness, email quality and high level of deliverability.

Providing practical solutions to improve email performance based on email marketing design benchmark;

Demonstrate a capacity to learn and to share technical innovation available.

Code and masters SQL queries in order to build dynamic content for CRM needs.

Coordination with our international teams for specific requests;

Very good understanding of marketing needs.

Share with the Team the latest innovation regarding HTML Code & Email technical management.

Other duties as may be assigned.

Profile requirements

2+ years of experience as web or email HTML developer

Degree in web development or related field;

Marketing sensitive

Advanced level of command on Email HTML, CSS and JavaScript and flexbox and debugging

Familiar with Photoshop and coding software such as Sublime Text or Notepad ++;

Fast learner, accurate, systematic and methodical;

Self-motivated and enjoy challenges;

Fluent English

SQL is a plus

Ability to organize and prioritize multi-tasks;

Jumia Market, the peer-to-peer arm of Jumia Group, is gearing to create the most personable, engaging and intuitive social ecommerce platform in Africa and needs an extraordinary Content Writer to make it happen!

This is an exceptional role. Working alongside with our Growth Hacker and local teams across Africa, the main responsibility of the role is to make complex materials/procedures simple, personable, intuitive and fun to communicate and understand!

Role:

Create original, creative content - with an educational perspective - across multiple channels in long and short formats. These include, but not limited to:

customer facing training material on the site (think super clean and focused "guides"),

Engagement emails (think messages that encourage you to take action),

Push notifications (think notes that arise curiosity),

Social media messages (think communications that create a buzz)

Articles for content marketing (think highlighting exciting stories about the site and what you can find on it)

Monitor effectiveness of new and existing content and take the lead on coming up with solutions to improve strategy

Communicate flawlessly both in verbal and written mediums with impeccable spelling and grammar

Work effectively without close supervision and take lead of projects

Support the SEO team with optimization of content assets and other related initiatives

Have experience in challenging, hyper growth environments

Love peer-to-peer economy, social media, design and all things creative and online

Understand users and what motivates them online

Ideally also speak French or at least willing to learn a word or two

Supported by a strong team, you will report directly to our Growth Hacker. This position can be based in Lagos, Nigeria or Nairobi, Kenya with a potential travel across the continent.
