Job Summary
Security manager is responsible for protection of employees, company assets and reputation against any kind of malicious assaults, also protect company customers and vendors property, prevent accidents and work on consequences caused by any of such incidents.
S/he will be required to make sure all areas and individuals onsite are safe and secure. In this role you will have the opportunity to assist in creating and fully managing the security of all Jumia facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Safety and Security Responsibilities
Assist in the development and implementation of property and emergency procedures.
Conduct investigations of any internal shrinkage and report it to management.
Act as front-line security to effectively monitor and protect assets and individuals.
Oversee periodic patrols of the entire property and parking areas.
Administer property and asset policies fairly and consistently.
Loss Prevention Security Responsibilities
Compliance to Loss Prevention guidelines and procedures.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with local law enforcement authorities.
Continuously work on loss and damage prevention among other things come up with ideas and take action models from best practices or implement our own effective system and processes that help to avoid and prevent any incidents that may affect negatively company or her vendors or customers property;
Develop and maintain a working relationship with local law enforcement authorities.
Take the most effective measures to solve incidents in
professional way with the least costs and the shortest possible time, prioritizing company interests among other things to recover damages and avoid similar happenings in future.
Management Responsibilities
Audit and analyses the needs and build strong processes that goes along with group policy and process
Plan, design and implement an overall risk management process for the organization
Make sure partners and employees in different departments follow the guidelines.
Use systems and help develop a road map that can help achieve targets
Fills reports and routines about works, incidents etc that are necessary to give regular feedback and implement best practices to improve work quality or share information in group level.
Service Level
Create and follow the best practices in security service level, among other things update her/himself about security trends and risks in the country; take an appropriate action to mitigate such risks and avoid damages.
Assure high quality security service both internally (towards internal units) and externally (between police, insurance, court etc).
Run regular risk assessment to find and eliminate security risks and bottlenecks in earliest possible time.
Continuously work on cost optimization and service effectiveness to avoid unnecessary cost at the same time to increase service level with regular training and workshops.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors. Degree (Criminal Justice, Management, Operations, Legal).
Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet etc.
Proficient in Google Office Suite – Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, etc.
Diploma or certification in security management services will be an added advantage.
Relevant Experience
Minimum of 4 years warehouse management security, logistics/supply chain, e-commerce, consulting experience.
Experience in security/loss prevention management.
In-depth knowledge of performance metrics.
Experienced in monitoring and situation evaluation.
Skills and Competences
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy and precision.
Excellent communication and leadership, organizational and time-management skills.
Problem solving skills and analytical skills.
Know how to manage priorities and work with short terms.
Ability to make quick and smart decisions under pressure.
