To ensure and implement excellent accounting procedures, control and statutory IFRS complaint reporting whilst acting in strong partnership with the Commercial and Treasury teams (for the JSE Group)
Job description
Participate in crafting financial management procedures to ensure quality of delivery on time
Apply cost effectiveness principles in planning and delivery to contribute to achievement of divisional financial targets;
Ensure all financial transactions are concluded by executing and reviewing financial month end close, as required by JSE Listing requirements, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and internal reporting deadlines and requirements;
Organise feedback sessions after an event to correct future work standards
Work with urgency and accuracy collaboratively to meet statutory compliance requirements
Conduct root cause analysis when reconciling items occur and apply appropriate solution
Provide input into the formalisation for the divisional budget
Urge the financial and reporting team to capture GL entries to ensure deadlines are met Review month on month and year on year budget figures in the IDU system, flag variances and feed information to Commercial team
Contribute to crafting of annual Finance division business plan to ensure delivery of focus areas in support of the Finance strate

Build internal networks by mutual support within the wider JSE
Influence decision making by working collaboratively with the General Ledger team
Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with key contacts in Finance and the supported business players
Be recognised by peers as an active contributor to the Finance team
Drive change control and new financial activities to to maximise value add to the business from a financial support perspective

Improve personal capability and professional growth relating to field of expertise, in line with JSE objectives by discussing development needs and proposed solutions with management
Keep abreast of changes in legislation or standards by conducting research and utilising networks

Analyse, research, develop and implement improvement/innovative ideas and value adding solutions contributing to divisional and JSE results
Minimum requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Grade 12 (Essential)
BCom Degree in Accounting (Essential)
CA (SA) (Preferred)
Minimum 5 years experience in a Financial
Accounting role
