JOWA Health is a mobile laboratory company presently operating in Kampala and its surrounding areas.

We provide home-based lab testing services in a range of areas including COVID-19 Sample picking, Stat Draws, Critical Timed Sensitive Draws, Cancer Screening, Cholesterol Testing, Medication Level Testing, Thyroid Testing, Routine Draws, Timed Antibiotic Testing, Glucose Level Testing, Specimen Pick-up and delivery and more!

Such a company comes in handy at a time as this when time is of the essence and social distancing, urban riots, traffic congestion and other inconvenience make life in the urban areas less enjoyable.

We are scaling up our operations to cater for the increasing demand for mobile health services in Uganda and would like to recruit a competent and experienced accountant/ cashier to handle our finances. .

Accountant/ Cashier Job Responsibilities

• Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports.

• Documents financial transactions by entering account information.

• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports.

• Maintains accounting standards at JOWA Health by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.

• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.

• Ensures that financial information is safe by completing database backups.

• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.

• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.

• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.

• Complies with the local financial legal requirements of Uganda by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Work Hours & Benefits

The prospective accountant/cashier will work 8 hours a day and occasionally on weekends.

Moreover, there are work from home options in some circumstances. JOWA Health compensates all its staff well.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

● A minimum of a diploma in accounting, finance or a related field

● CPA would be an added advantage (it is not required)

● Minimum 1-year experience in accounting/finance in a company/ NGO setting

● Experience with financial reporting requirements

● Ability to work with modern accounting software (QuickBooks, Excel, etc.) is a plus

● MUST be good with MS Word
