Job SummaryThe Commission is looking for an outstanding Senior Analyst with a proven-track record in project management, analytics and communication.
The Senior Analyst will have the unique opportunity to actively contribute to the job creation agenda and the economic development of Ethiopia.
He or she will be in the middle of managing a wide range of initiatives, activities within the Enabling Ethiopia Project as well as directly work as a close technical assistant to the Commissioner.
The Senior Analyst will have the opportunity to play front-line delivery assurance across teams within the Commission, responsible for among many things for tracking and reporting on performance of specific initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Job Responsibility #1: Planning and Management
Coordinate the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual activity plan of the Enabling Ethiopia Project and Commissioner’s Office, including:
Managing all internal communication in coordination with the official Public Relations & Communications personnel while ensuring consistent and timely announcements and memos internally
Auditing all outputs by the Commission including but not limited to official reports, performance evaluations, HR and financial resource allocation and deployment
Assisting the Commissioner and other teams with day-to-day operational and program related duties related with the Enabling Ethiopia project and the Commission as a whole, debottlenecking on issues where necessary
Acting as priority area focal point within the Commissioner’s office and keep detailed track of the progress of initiatives in the priority area’s portfolio the Commission reports on;
Working closely with the relevant teams within the Commission and partner institutions to fast-track Enabling Ethiopia project implementation and other initiatives undertaken by the Commission to identify areas where coordination / senior-level intervention is required;
Providing practical support to lead-teams for Enabling Ethiopia Project as well as other flagship initiatives to troubleshoot and “debottleneck” impediments to delivery of priorities; and
Conducting analysis of critical issues pertaining to JCC priority initiatives, identifying cross-cutting and emerging issues, and proposing necessary solutions.
Advising the Commissioner on strategic matters and setting priorities for leadership guidance including organizing and coordinating management meetings, team health issues, and performance management.
Coordinating JCC on-demand team-wide tactical operations to meet urgent “all-hands-on-deck” responses tasked by the Commissioner
Job Responsibility #2: Staff Management
Coach and mentor staff members under his/her supervision within the Commissioner’s Office
Ensure that skills and knowledge are properly transferred to the staff of JCC under his/her supervision
Job Responsibility #3 Monitoring, Evaluation, Networking
Monitor the timely execution of planned activities and budget of the Enabling Ethiopia Project as
well as the Commissioner’s Office and effectiveness and efficiency of the team coordination with other teams and units in JCC.
Engage with stakeholders, build networking and share networking resources within the scope of the responsibility of the Commissioner’s Office.
Job Responsibility # 4 Reporting
Submit on his/her weekly plan and weekly personal performance reports
Prepare and submit performance reports with regards to the Enabling Ethiopia Project and Commissioner’s Office, in addition to weekly and monthly planning and performance reports which may be required by the Commissioner, Head of the Commissioner’s office and/or Innovative Jobs and Projects Senior Manager.
Job Responsibility #5: Others
Ensure Enabling Ethiopia project work methods, resources, studies, reports, tools developed are properly captured, archived, shared for the best interest of the Commission.
Collaborate with other project team members and the Commission’s staff.
Execute other activities assigned by then Commissioner
Job Requirements
Education/Training
BA degree or Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, Law, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics, or another relevant field of study
Experience
At least three years (for Bachelor’ Degree) / two years (for Master’s Degree) of relevant experience required
1-2 years of project management experience with evidence of multi-stakeholder management and performance tracking and reporting
