Job Title: Head of Information Systems
Location:

Reports to:
Accountable Manager
Role Purpose
To lead internal stakeholders through the successful implementation of information systems projects throughout all functions of the airline, in pursuit of efficiency; from inception to delivery to optimization.
To develop innovative IS systems, standards, policies and procedures and ensure appropriate integration across the organization
To lead the development and implementation of company-wide (a) Systems Continuity Plans (SCPs) and (b) Systems Security Strategy.
Key Account-abilities/Responsibilities
Work very closely with internal customers to perform business process analysis so as to create documentation of processes and provide IS solutions for workflow optimization
Develop and continuously update full scale project plans and associated communication plans in order to track project delivery for all Information Systems
Manage the deployment of a structured change management approach and methodology for the people side change caused by business systems implementation efforts, in order to ensure smooth uptake of business systems by User departments
Be accountable for the availability and accuracy of the Commercial, RM, Finance and Payment Systems
Lead and champion the support of existing systems at Airports where Jambojet operates.
Work closely with Kenya Airports Authority and other airport authorities to ensure that systems automation requirements are catered for, and integration requirements between airport authority systems and Jambojet systems are successfully addressed, to ensure optimal passenger handling
Ensure all outsourced support is delivered within the service level expectations and agreements.
Work closely with the Web / E-Commerce teams to ensure high availability and reliability of Web and E-commerce Systems
Development, Implementation and Maintenance of ICT Security Strategy, Policy and Procedures
Design,
review and update, as required, effective and efficient IT infrastructure and hardware
Develop and Manage the Communications & Networks Strategy for the Airline.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Graduate in IT or related field.
Knowledge and experience of the ITIL framework to practitioner level or equivalent
ITIL Foundation Certification
MCSE, DBA, Unix ACE, HP EVA, NetApp-on-tap
Good Oracle Database administration knowledge and skill
Unix / Linus Administration working knowledge and skill
Networking Skills
Basic hardware knowledge
5 + years’ experience in business systems implementation and IT project management
Demonstrated experience in business analysis and requirements identification.
Good knowledge of current IT standards for operating systems, databases, internet and infrastructure.
Good knowledge of budget and financial management an added advantage
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, problem-solving, judgment and decision-making skills.
Good communication and influencing skills; Ability to relate well with both internal and external customers and work in teams
Supervisory skills with ability to guide, mentor and coach
Absolute and unquestioned integrity, confidentiality and respect.
Results driven: Positive, energetic self-starter with a high level of personal drive and resilience
