Overall objectiveThe overall objective isAudio drama and key messages developed for back-to-school campaign to convey messages that supports to re-enroll the girls to the learning centers (ABE/IFAL).
Purpose
Increase the awareness of girls, families and the community on the importance of education for girls; despite the COVID-19 context and long-term safety measures.
Convey messages that ABE/IFAL centers are COVID-19 safe place where to resume learning.
Re-boost the motivation of families to and facilitate the re-enrollment of girls.
Results to be achieved
Develop “Back to School” key messages to be conveyed during back-to-school campaign (by a consultant with innovative approach) which take into consideration the COVID-19 background and long-term safety measures,
Publish the “Back to School” messages in different media (leaflets, posters, billboards and audio messages)
Disseminate the “Back to School” messages in the intervention areas.
Key Focus/content of the drama
Barriers and norms that affect education of girls and girls with disabilities.
The benefit of Educating girls to girls themselves, family, community and country.
Struggle against gender-based violence and discrimination against girls, connected with re-enrolment of girls to schools.
Role of girls, men/boys, families, community in supporting girls to re-enroll to school.
The effect of COVID 19 on girls and the kind of support girls need to minimize the impact of the pandemic.
Hygiene promotion as part of COVID 19 prevention, etc.
Who is going to
convey the messages? (field staffs, facilitators, CAG, PTSA, or others key persons)
Where to convey the messages? (radio broadcast, home-to-home, religious areas, market places, health centers, etc.)
The key deliverables are
Conduct assessment of the existing situation of project intervention areas to contextualize the messages (Afar, South Wolo, Borena and Gedeo), remotely or physically depending on the existing situation.
Develop a script for the audio drama and key messages that help to campaign for back to school.
Produce audio drama of 20-30 minutes in 4 languages (Amharic, Afan Oromo, Gedeo and Afar language).
Develop “Back to School” key messages in local languages (Gedeo, Amharic, Afar, Afaan Oromo) to be part of the audio message which also take into consideration the COVID-19 background and safety measures.
Produce and Submit first draft of the audio drama and messages for comments and feedbacks by CIAI and Consortium members.
Final publication: by incorporating the comments provided by the consortium members, the publishing enterprise will submit the final messages.
Job Requirements
The contractor/consultant should qualify the following requirements:
Clarity, Creativity and Comprehensiveness of the publication.
At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
A renewed license,
ToT or VAT registered
