IRC Regional Measurement Action Coordinator Vacancies in Kenya
Job DescriptionThis position sits within the Great Lakes Regional Unit at the International Programs Department, reporting to the Deputy Regional Director. The main task of the position is to support in-country measurement and learning staff in their efforts to ensure that program data are of high quality and used effectively for decision making, as well as that these efforts are aligned with IRC’s global vision and delivery plans for measurement.
Responsibilities
Provide hands-on technical assistance to country programs by ensuring that key staff delivers on their measurement commitments as agreed in the Strategy Action Plans and in comformity and alignment with IRC’s global vision and delivery plans for measurement.
Collaborate with in-country measurement and learning staff, in coordination with Country Directors, Deputy Directors of Programmes, Grant Coordinators and the Deputy Regional Director, in the development, implementation, and updating of measurement priorities included in the Strategy Action Plans, that are also consistent with IRC’s global vision and delivery plans for measurement.
Coordinate and keep track of all regional and in-country evaluation efforts (as requested by donors and/or as developed by program staff) to inform and obtain guidance and support from IRC’s Research, Evaluation, and Learning Unit. This aims at ensuring consistency in the approach and results of such evaluations.
Support in-country DDPs and senior measurement and learning staff in the hiring of measurement and learning staff.
Coordinate the M&E of multi-country programs in the region by ensuring, working together with Technical Advisors, that a consistent approach is used that enables cross-cutting consolidation, analysis, and reporting to all stakeholders involved.
Actively participate and contribute into the efforts of headquarter’s Measurement Unit, particularly into the Measurement Core Implementation Team.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in relevant field such as economics, statistics, international development, public policy, or other social sciences.
Minimum seven years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting M&E frameworks and results, with extensive experience supporting field-based M&E design and reporting, as well as working with major international donors on M&E related aspects. Extensive experience in developing baseline research, logic models, data collection and analysis, mid-term evaluations, outcome evaluations, and in mentoring and teaching-by-doing other M&E staff.
Experience with the challenges of effective monitoring in the field, including cultural, gender, and access considerations with the aim of enhancing project learning, quality, and data-driven decision making.
Proven ability to operate in a complex organization, across functions and projects, on own initiative and collaboratively as part of diverse teams, including project management experience.
Excellent communication skills, including solid writing skills and the ability to plan for and prepare strategic communications.
Good understanding of basic ICT principles and the logic of data collection and management systems.
Strong computer skills: proficiency with MS Office – especially MS Excel. Knowledge of ArcGIS, Kobo ToolBox, CommCare, MS PowerBI, as well as other software used in qualitative and quantitative M&E would be solid assets.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% of time.
Fluency in English and good working knowledge of French.

IRC Senior Field Coordinator, Hagadera and Garissa Vacancies in Kenya
Job Description
The Field Coordinator (FC) plays a key role in the overall leadership and management of the IRC Kenya Program. The Field Coordinator leads IRCs response in Hagadera and Garissa Field Sites and is responsible for supporting, coordinating and supervising timely and high-quality program implementation, with a specific focus in ensuring effective functionality of all the support functions of the program.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day implementation of all programs in the field site, providing constructive supervision to the program managers to implement, monitor, evaluate work plans including monitoring & evaluation mechanisms as
agreed with the Deputy Director Programs and in coordination with the IRC sector Technical Coordinators.
In close collaboration with relevant Technical Coordinator(s), lead the field-based teams in the development of new proposals and initiatives for the Hagadera and Garissa field site in accordance with the country program strategic plan and IRC Strategic Action Plan 2020 framework.
Participate in the development of budgets for program proposals in conjunction with the grants and finance departments.
Ensure timely and quality program implementation, reporting, and monitoring.
Contribute to assessments, program design, and budgeting.
Ensure programs are in compliance with IRC, donor and national requirements.
Qualifications
Six or more year’s progressive management and leadership experience with an International NGO.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant management or technical field.
Experience managing country program teams with a diverse portfolio; knowledge of major donors (including USAID/OFDA/PRM, ECHO/EC, DFID, UN Agencies).
Strong background in Supply Chain, Logistics, Administration.
Experience in IT is strongly preferred.
Experience managing Security in a hostile environment.
Excellent leadership, people management, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a demonstrated ability to develop harmonious teams in cross cultural context.
Strong diplomatic skills. Ability to establish good working relationships with partners, donors and other stakeholders in a sensitive environment.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
English fluency required.

IRC WASH Manager/Team Leader Vacancies in Kenya
Job Description
We are seeking candidates for WASH Managers/Team Leaders for short-term emergency consultancies in the region which may include startup activities, technical support, partner secondment and project management in complex field locations. Consultancies will be confirmed and assigned based on mission need. The postings require a high degree of resilience, resourcefulness, technical expertise and safety and security awareness.
Responsibilities
In coordination with the Field Coordinator establish contacts with relevant international/local NGOs and line ministries in the area of operation;
Ensure that all projects in target locations are implemented in a timely and professional manner, according to objectives, goals and indicators established by SPHERE and partner/organizational standards and in line with donor requirements and beneficiary needs;
Conduct routine assessments as needed to determine the water, sanitation and hygiene needs within your target locations;
In coordination with the Field Coordinator, assist with technical support and capacity building for WASH staff under your direct management.
Ensure all implementation plans employ a programming approach that integrates the needs of other sectors of work especially Health
Qualifications
University degree in civil/environmental engineering or related field;
Minimum 3 years professional technical experience in Environmental Health, roads, structures and/or water delivery/production;
Minimum 2 years overseas experience, preferably in a conflict or post disaster setting;
Solid managerial skills and experience in an international multi-cultural setting;
Strong project planning, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
Proven technical writing skills;
Interpersonal qualities: Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure in a professional manner
Safety and security aware, driven and self-starting, resilient and emotionally intelligent;
Fluent in spoken and written English, and any local language skills are a plus
