IRC Regional Safety and Security Advisor Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities
Field Security Management Planning and Adherence:
Minimum of one visit per year to each country to monitor and support adherence to standards and requirements. Provide a follow-up report with clear findings and actionable recommendations after each visit.
Provide support, advice and feedback as offices develop or revise SMPs that are country or field -specific.
Direct security plan revisions when there is significant change in the security environment.
Humanitarian Access Management:
Establish principled and secure humanitarian access to enable durable programming
Assist in the continued development of humanitarian access teams and activities
Contribute in developing and implementing guidelines for humanitarian access and engagement with non-state actors, using standard IRC policy and guidance
Oversee and advise on the implementation and review of tailored acceptance and community engagement strategies
Security Orientation & Training:
Support country and field offices with the development of security orientation packages for incoming staff and visitors, and monitor compliance with the security orientation policy.
In collaboration with the Director International Safety and Security, adapt, deliver and facilitate delivery of security training program
Human resources:
Contribute to the review of job descriptions, selection and performance management of staff with Safety and Security responsibilities.
Act as technical supervisor for all country security focal points and most senior Humanitarian Access staff when relevant.
Promote and monitor staff care and well being
Incident Management:
Qualifications
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Strategic Studies, International Relations or Emergency Management or any other relevant discipline.
Minimum 6 - 8 years of non-profit or NGO work experience; including, at least 3 years of managerial experience in international safety and security, humanitarian assistance programs, with demonstrated capabilities in planning, organizing and executing security management operations.
Previous experience in safety and security or humanitarian operations management in high-risk or complex settings.
Experience in facilitating the learning of others and supporting training initiatives.
Demonstrates understanding of the regional context.
Demonstrated understanding of humanitarian principles, codes of conduct.
Proven analytical skills and critical thinking.
Ability to manage complexity.
Able to work as member of multinational and multicultural team and manage a variety of external and internal relationships to achieve results.

IRC Emergency Preparedness Specialist Jobs in Kenya
Job Description
The VPRU Emergency Preparedness Specialist is a member of VPRU and reports to the VPRU Deputy Director for Emergencies.
Responsibilities
Supporting local GBV expertise and emergency response to GBV
Accountability to women and girls in humanitarian response
VPRU emergency preparedness and response priorities
Compliance and grant management
Qualifications
University degree and technical accreditation or equivalent
At least 3-4 years of experience developing and managing GBV programming in humanitarian contexts
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with agencies, local governments and community leaders and develop multi-stakeholder support for humanitarian priorities and advocacy initiatives
Demonstrated ability to identify creative and appropriate solutions for the populations affected by crisis, considering factors including the context and an individual client's developmental stage, gender and status
Experience managing large, complex donor funded programs and grants, including staff management, budget oversight, monitoring and evaluation systems, and technical input to proposal-budget development and donor reports
Experience working directly or in partnership with other VPRU technical fields – Child Protection and Protection/Rule of Law – is not required but is an advantage

IRC Finance Coordinator Jobs in Kenya
Job Description
The Finance Coordinator has overall responsibility for the finance functions for the assigned partner. The Finance Coordinator- responsibilities include internal control, field office monitoring & control, reconciliation and verification of payment, staff training & capacity building functions.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of all aspects of day to day operations of accounting department
Ensure the implementation of finance policies, procedures and systems
Ensure compliance with IRC procedures and guidelines
Review all payment documents for proper and adequate back-up
Review spreadsheets before uploading/submitting to accounting System.
Review bank reconciliation monthly.
Liaise with bank on all banking issues.
Review all PRs, POs and payment requests for proper coding and budget adequacy before onwards submission for approval.
Provide the Payroll Administrator every month, outstanding personnel advances and charges
Make sure Staff time and efforts sheets tally with the monthly coding
In liaison with Logistics department, prepare commitment lists every month for financial obligations already entered into but not captured in financial reports.
Participate the committee for vendor selection
Supervises the preparation of Cash Transfer Requests to HQ and ensures that appropriate balances are maintained to facilitate grant implementation.
Oversees the protection of the country’s assets (cash, inventory, NEP) through the enforcement of internal control policies and procedures.
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance with a recognized professional certificate in accounting such as CPA, or ACCA.
A Masters degree with a Finance concentration will be an added advantage
Not less than 4 years at a senior level within the Finance Department of an international organization. Experience in the humanitarian sector will be an added advantage
Current or previous experience within a similar role will also be an added advantage
Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, standard spreadsheet and database programs
