Job DescriptionThe Environmental Health intern will work as a part of the Environmental Health and ERR team based in SNNPR.
She/he will under the direction of the Senior Environmental Health Manager in contributing for the improvement of Environmental health program in the region mainly focusing on the provision of safe water supply, basic hygiene and sanitation as well as enhancing their capacity on the area of WASH for the intended community and stakeholders.
Major Responsibilities
Provide support for ensuring activities comply with appropriate national/international standards and best practices and are focused on improving the environmental health conditions of the population.
Provide support to the development/improvement of data collection systems for monitoring and evaluation of environmental health activities.
Facilitate different workshops and training in the department in consultation with Senior EH – Manager and ERR team.
Provide support for conducting emergency environmental health assessments in SNNPR
Keep every EH documentations like donor and government reports and facilitate the delivery of the reports for the concerned body.
Follow up of different purchase requests (PRs) and facilitation of PRs both requested in Hawassa and sent from the field.
Facilitate good documentation of EH-Department like proper filing of donor report, government report, and monthly reports.
Distribute different
reports, invitation letters and other for partner offices.
Follow up and track purchase requests (PRs) at Hawassa as well as PRs from field and keep the copy appropriately.
Work with EH/ERR material release from Hawassa and its delivery to the intended site.
Support in preparing the best practices, share the lessons and keep the documentation of the EH projects in electronic and hard copy.
Any other assignment given by Senior EH-Manager.
Qualifications
University degree in Water resource, civil engineering, Environmental health and related with a specialty in water and sanitation.
Good understanding of community-based environmental health programming.
Highly motivated and with a desire to work with culturally diverse communities and local authorities.
Good team player and adopt at creating a strong team spirit.
Excellent written and spoken in English.
Amharic language is essential
Other skills:
Basic Computer skills in word, excel and PowerPoint
