IOM Senior Logistics Assistant Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities
Ensure close coordination with GPSU on replenishment of stocks, including close
coordination with Vendors on timely delivery of stocks to Nairobi, Kenya.
Ensure that the relevant documentation related to VAT exemptions and duty-free
exemptions are processed in a timely manner to ensure smooth delivery of stocks
to the relevant locations within Nairobi, this includes, but not limited to Supplier
bonded warehouses
Track and ensure that Stock Withdrawal Forms (SWF) are duly approved by
Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE) and requesting missions. Liaise
with DOE on priority requests for Global stocks.
Serve as a focal point to requesting missions and provide delivery
options/quotations (air, land, sea) based on volumetric weight and gross weight of
stocks requested.
Liaise with Protocol (In Kenya) on required documentation related to the release
of stocks to requesting missions. Track and monitor delivery schedule of stocks
from Nairobi to Final Destination Point (FDP).
Ensure all Global stocks transactions are timely posted to PRISM and regular
reports submitted to relevant units on a weekly/monthly basis.
Coordinate with Quality Control (QC) Unit in GPSU and QC partners in Nairobi to
ensure all Global Stocks received at the Nairobi Hub undergo necessary quality
inspections to ensure quality control is completed and reported for all stocks
received.
Prepare and submit Quality reports to the QC officer for endorsement and
subsequent entries to update stocks on SAP.
Ensure all warehousing transactions are recorded according to warehousing
management procedures and policies. Document and file all entries for auditing and verification purposes.
Provide data analysis on all Stocks under the Nairobi Hub on a monthly basis.
Liaise also with the DOE counterpart to provide stock tracking support and
updates on Global Stocks when requested.
Provide feedback to the Regional Procurement and Logistics officer on
improvements to management and data flows of Global Stocks managed at the Nairobi Hub.
Submit reports on all inventories and assets on a monthly basis.
Perform any other duties that might be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
University Degree in related field, alternatively, and equivalent combination of related education and professional experience.
Experience
Four years
of work experience in International Supply Chain Management.
Experience in managing warehousing operations and quality control.
Experience in processing exemptions on duties and taxes related to shipments on incoming and delivery of goods.
Experience in calculating actual weight and volumetric weight on delivery of goods.
Advance knowledge on Incoterms.
Experience in product development, project management.
Languages
Fluent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.

Other
Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
