International Rescue Committee NGO Clinical Officer - Kakuma Jobs in Kenya
Job Purpose/ObjectiveThe clinical officer in charge of the Clinic will be responsible for the overall coordination of health activities and supervision of the all staff. Will work closely with the, Pharmacist, Lab Technologist, PITC Nurse, Community Health Officer, Nutritionist and others in ensuring quality health services to the beneficiaries. Will also provide support in the hospital as needed, doing ward rounds, hospital calls and ensuring coverage both day and night.
Responsibilities
Program management:
Overall in charge of the clinic
Supervision of Clinic staff
Keep complete and accurate inventory of medicines and supplies located at the clinic and monitor/supervise their usage
Assess Clinic needs regularly, and make trimester orders
Human Resource:
Set Performance Objectives for personnel reporting to him/ her and monitor their performance.
Attend the monthly clinical services staff meeting and share updates
Plan and manage staff leave and R&R plans ensuring adequate coverage
Make JD for the incentive staffs under your supervision
Hold monthly meetings with the staffs of under your unit
Program activities:
Clinical assessment and prescription of treatment for all patients
Refer chronic cases to the various special clinics
Properly cover weekends, arrange a rotation schedule with fellow clinical officers
Conducts ward rounds in absence of the Medical Officer
Properly documented treatment on patients files
Maintain an accurate and updated records keeping system in the health unit
Carry out minor surgical procedures
Attend to emergencies in ward in the absence of Medical Officer
Participate in camp health surveys e.g. Nutrition, Immunization, etc.
Attend and participate in the daily morning hospital handover meetings
Participate in weekly continues medical education(CME) at the hospital
Training of staff on job and theory sessions;
Reporting and Coordination:
Ensure all patient records are properly documented in the patient files with all aspects of management being captured.
Compile and submit weekly HIS reports.
Conduct mortality audits for all deaths occurring in the paediatric ward together with other staff working in the unit and share the reports with the CSM on a monthly basis.
Maintain accurate inventory record at the facility
Qualifications
iploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery
Registered with clinical officers council
Minimum 2 years working experience working in health set up
Good clinical skills - history taking, physical examination, ordering appropriate laboratory investigations and make appropriate diagnosis.
Proven leadership, communication, interpersonal, decision making skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills (English and Swahili).
Computer literacy in the use of MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is desired
Ability to work and deliver results with minimum supervision
Demonstrated ability to work as a team player.
Experience of working in hardship area.

Job Purpose/Objective
The Finance Coordinator has overall responsibility for the finance functions for the assigned partner. The Finance Coordinator- responsibilities include internal control, field office monitoring & control, reconciliation and verification of payment, staff training & capacity building functions.
Responsibilities
Accounting and internal control
Responsible for the management of all aspects of day to day operations of accounting department
Ensure the implementation of finance policies, procedures and systems
Ensure compliance with IRC procedures and guidelines
Review all payment documents for proper and adequate back-up
Review spreadsheets before uploading/submitting to accounting System.
Review bank reconciliation monthly.
Liaise with bank on all banking issues.
Grant management
Reconcile grant financial reports
Prepare grant reconciliations for Program and Finance review and sign off
Inform the grant owner of major budget fluctuations, significant overspending or under spending
Liaise with country office and HQ in regards to any grant reconciliation or payment request as necessary
Responsible for conducting financial and general compliance monitoring
Qualifications
A Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce or Finance with a recognized professional certificate in accounting such as CPA, or ACCA.
A Masters degree with a Finance concentration will be an added advantage
Not less than 4 years at a senior level within the Finance Department of an international organization. Experience in the humanitarian sector will be an added advantage
Current or previous experience within a similar role will also be an added advantage
Extensive experience in working with computerized accounting systems, standard spreadsheet and database programs
