Job DescriptionWorking under the supervision of the Transport Officer, the Driver is responsible for driving IRC vehicles, maintaining them, keeping record of movements, fuel, tools and confirm safety of the vehicle, passengers, cargo and other road users. Adhere to IRC, policy, rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Driving of IRC vehicles allocated by your supervisor.
Performing daily routine maintenance checks.
You are responsible of maintaining the IRC vehicle Log sheets on daily basis.
Responsible of maintaining vehicle cleanliness.
Confirm the vehicle allocated has sufficient fuel.
Ensure that the road license, inspection stickers, insurance certificate and any other mandatory documents of the vehicle(s) allocated is up to date.
Confirm that vehicle is equipped with; first aid kits, tools, jerk, wheel spanner and spare wheel.
Ensure safety of vehicle(s) allocated.
Ensure the safety of passengers and pedestrians.
No carrying any unauthorized passenger and cargo.
Stay in sync with all local road laws and highway code
Align with all security directives and radio etiquette.
Be conversant with inbuilt communication systems, winches, and 4x4 accessories.
Report and follow up repairs, service and maintenance of vehicles.
Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
Thorough method of working with ability to work in high pressure to pursue multiple tasks simultaneously to successful conclusions.
Positive attitude with good sense of humor.
Committed teammate.
Ability to live and work in conditions of limited comfort.
Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).
At least Three (3) years’ experience
working as a Driver.
Valid driving License.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Previous NGO relevant work experience.
Experience in repairing/maintaining vehicles, communications (Codan HF, VHF).
