International Rescue Committee Casework Supervisor, Resettlement Program Jobs in Kenya
Job Overview: The Casework Supervisor manages staff providing direct client services within the Reception and Placement (R&P) Program. The Casework Supervisor plans and implements programming, coordinates core service delivery, supervises staff, ensures program goals are met, and satisfies budgetary, compliance, and reporting responsibilities for the assigned portfolio.
Major Responsibilities:
Core Service Delivery
Supervises a team of caseworkers providing trauma-informed case management to refugees and SIVs across the United States.
Ensures caseworkers have been appropriately onboarded and oriented to their position and provides regular professional development in casework.
Monitors case management service provision, including assignment of cases, reviewing needs assessment, service plans, referrals provided, observing delivery of information to clients, and monitoring case closeout procedures.
Ensures caseworkers maintain accurate records in electronic case files and required databases following data protection policies and the program’s data collection requirements.
Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) in line with casework best practices and IRC policies and procedures to ensure successful program delivery and a safe, supportive environment for clients and staff.
Acts as a point of escalation for a team of caseworkers, providing case consultation as needed.
Provide client-centered crisis intervention support, working with appropriate stakeholders.
Submits required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
Builds and manages relationships with community service providers in relevant areas in collaboration with the Referral Liaisons.
Ensures staff maintain ethical practices, including maintaining the confidentiality of cases.
Maintains a strong understanding of trauma-informed principles and approaches, immigration system policies and trends, protection and safeguarding, and mandatory reporting.
Cultivates a respectful, encouraging, and inclusive environment for team members and clients.
Provides services to a smaller caseload while maintaining supervisory capacity.
Other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred, preferably in social work or related field.
Work Experience:
Minimum two to three years of experience implementing domestic refugee resettlement or similar programs.
Experience supervising, supporting, and training staff is strongly preferred.
Experience in program management and responsibility for budget management preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member in a multi-cultural environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English; proficiency in a language spoken by client populations a plus.
Valid driver’s license, reliable access to a vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
Working Environment:
A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within
the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
