Organizational Context and ScopeUnder the general supervision of the National Programme Officer and the direct supervision of the IOM Semera Sub-office Head and COVID 19 program focal point, the successful candidate will support the planning and execution of data entry requirements of the various programmes of Migration Management Unit.
He/She will particularly be responsible for the following:
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Ensure the day to day collection of returnees’ biodata set at quarantine center and/or point of entry
Ensure completeness of data collected before sending to the server through verifications and corrections
Prepare source data by compiling, indexing, sorting and establishing entry priorities before data entry.
Assist with data entry as may be required by the sub-office which includes, Livelihood, Transportation, M&E, Communications and Reporting programmes
Perform Data entry and conduct data validation after data entry
Support sub-office in compiling returns data set on the basis of vulnerability to provide lifesaving assistance and medical referral.
Organize and file the source data after data entry
Liaise as data focal points at quarantine center/point of entry for further returns support
Ensure data backup and restore procedures are implemented in accordance with IOM’s IT policies.
Ensure data protection as per IOM Data protection principles
Prepare activity reports at the end of the data entry exercise
Perform any other duties as may be assigned
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
University degree from an accredited academic institution in IT, Social Science or related field with a combination of relevant training and experience.
Experience
Experience in working in direct contact with migrants
Previous work experience in an international Organization (UN, IO, and NGO) in cross cultural field environment with the local communities is distinct advantage
Excellent computer skills (MS Office, ODK/KOBO, basic database knowledge required)
Good initiative and ability to plan and manage activities with
limited supervision
Capacity to work under pressure and hardship environment
Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, and drive for results
Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds
Languages
Thorough knowledge of English languages is required.
Knowledge of other local/international languages is advantageous.
