International Medical Corps (IMC) Community Mobilization Officer Jobs in Ethiopia
Job DescriptionProgram ImplementationClearly aware of program’s implementation activities and execution of the program along with other SRH program staffs
Conduct regular community mobilization and awareness creation activities by using community outreach agents
Establish camp program mini media and ensure its functionality for the target population
Together with IMC SRH program team (SSRH officers and Program manager) ensure that the program is being implemented as planned and within budget, and in accordance with IMC and global humanitarian policies and guidelines, including Codes of Conduct principles and standards on accountability to the affected populations
Ensure program activities are implemented with-in the project period
In collaboration with senior SRH officers follow and execute the camp level program implementation
In collaboration with senior SRH officer perform weekly, monthly and quarterly report for the responsible stakeholders
Assist the Senior SRH Health Officer with the integration of SRH into general health care
Strengthen community-facility referral system for refugees with sexual and reproductive health needs.
Regular meetings and communication with field staff of partner in the refugee camps on issues of common interest
Maintain a regular communication with SSRH, program management.
Report to the senior SRH officer in a timely and as requested
Job Requirements
University degree in Sociology , Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, Sociology or a related field
More than three years experience with an international NGO
and/or coordinating emergency response projects, preferably in a refugee settings.
Ability to cope with stress; hardship; patience and flexibility.
Ability to effectively work with government, community leaders, international/national organizations, partners and other IMC relationships.
Team builder with an ability to train and coach staff
Diplomatic and an effective communicator at all levels
Proficiency in the use of MS Office, Email and other computer application
Language Excellent in English and/or speaking local language (Afar/Tigrigna) is more advantageous
Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Ability to cope with stress; hardship; patience and flexibility.
Ability to effectively work with government, community leaders, international/national organizations, donors, partners and other International Medical Corps relationships.
Able to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with colleagues in course of work.
Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
Ability and willingness to work in refugee camps where the project is implemented
Demonstrated experience and skills in ensuring community participation and mobilization in humanitarian programming
