Insurance Training College Procurement Assistant Jobs in Uganda

Job Purpose

To provide support to the Procurement Officer in planning, reviewing, monitoring and reporting on procurement transactions. Guide and assist staff in preparing specifications and initiation of procurement requirements.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

To compile and compute all procurement requirements from line departments.

To handle suppliers’ correspondences about the procurement procedures and updates.

To liaise with suppliers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services as per contract agreements.

To ensure timely payments to suppliers by liaising with the relevant departments.

To receive and register bids.

To attend to inquiries and notify bidders of the outcome of the bidding process.

To establish, maintain and update procurement filling system, records and supplier database.

To perform any other duties assigned by the Procurement Officer.

Key Performance Indicators

• Initiated procurements completed within agreed time frame

• User departments guided to draft specifications/TORs correctly

• User departments guided in initiating procurements

• Bids received, recorded, and opened in accordance with approved PPDA requirements.

• Evaluations of bids conducted in accordance with

PPDA requirements

• Procurement requirements received, referenced and procurements files opened.

Key Competencies Required

He/she should be creative and innovative.

Ability to embrace change management.

Computer literate with a strong knowledge MS Excel, Word and Power point

He/she should be a person of high integrity.

Results Oriented.

Effective communication skills.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelors Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.

Computer literacy is a must.

At least one (1) year work experience in a related field.

Good knowledge in PPDA Procurement regulations and procedures
