Insurance Regulatory Authority of Uganda Senior Finance Officer Jobs

Job Purpose :

Maintain the established financial and budgeting procedures and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements as relating to IRA.

Duties and Responsibilities

Review all transactions posted into the accounting system on a weekly basis;

Review of invoices to ensure all necessary documents are attached as a prerequisite to
processing them for payment;

Supervise the investigation and follow up of all outstanding items on bank reconciliation
statements;

Manage Staff imprest, loans, and advances, to ensure all are settled as per IRA
policies/agreement;

Ensure statutory obligations are settled within the stipulated timelines;

Review and confirm the accuracy of the payroll and statutory returns;

Review general journal entries;

Follow up debtors as per IRA policies;

Ensure that all financial transaction vouchers are properly kept and secure;

Staff supervision, mentoring to ensure the technical capability

Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Accurate and updated books of accounts

Reconciled accounts

Statutory obligations paid on time

Job Specifications

Qualifications

At least a Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Commerce, Business Administration
(Accounting/Finance Option) any equivalent qualification from a reputable higher
institution of learning.

Professional qualification such as ACCA,

CPA is an added advantage

Experience

At least 3 years’ experience working in a similar position or in a related environment

Knowledge of a number of accounting packages is an added advantage.
