Institute of Public Finance Managing Director Jobs in Kenya; We are seeking a visionary and strategic Managing Director to lead PFM Media Limited into its next chapter of innovation, growth, and national influence. This role combines editorial leadership, strategic programme delivery, and business development to strengthen the platform’s impact and sustainability. The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall programme design and implementation, translating the platform’s vision into effective content and civic education strategies.

Specific Job Requirements
Business Development, Innovation & Growth
Spearhead the platform’s growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, developing innovative offerings, and expanding revenue streams.
Strengthen PFM Media Limited’s market position in both the media and governance sectors through brand visibility, strategic alignment, and media influence.
Translate market trends and governance insights into audience-focused solutions that drive engagement, impact, and relevance across diverse platforms.
Lead the development of sustainable business schemes, products, or partnerships that diversify income and ensure the platform’s long-term viability.
Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Partnerships
Lead stakeholder engagement efforts and actively cultivate high-impact relationships with donors, government agencies, civil society, media networks, and private sector players.
Forge strategic partnerships that enhance program delivery, brand positioning, and the platform’s public value.
Represent PFM Media Limited in key forums to influence public discourse, advocate for citizen engagement in public finance, and build cross-sector alliances.
Staff Leadership and Development
Provide strategic leadership to the PFM
Media Limited team, fostering a high-performance, inclusive, and collaborative organizational culture.
Champion professional growth by supporting training, mentorship, and career development opportunities for staff at all levels.
Ensure clear communication, effective delegation, and strong internal coordination across departments and projects.
Governance and Reporting
Provide regular strategic and operational updates to the Board of Directors and the CEO.
Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications and Competencies.
Bachelor’s degree in media, Communications, Public Policy, Business, or a related field; a master’s degree is an added advantage.
Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a media, civic education, or governance-focused organization.
Proven track record in business development, revenue generation, or media innovation.
An understanding of public financial management, civic engagement, and the media landscape in Kenya.
Excellent communication, partnership-building, and team leadership skills.
Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage complexity and drive organizational growth.
