Description ICPAU is the national professional accountancy body in Uganda, established by The Accountants Act in 1992, now the Accountants Act, 2013. It has the legal mandate to regulate and maintain the Standard of Accountancy in Uganda; to prescribe and regulate the conduct of accountants and practising accountants in Uganda; as well as conduct professional accountancy examinations in Uganda.

Role Purpose And Context
The job holders priority is to steer the research agenda of the Institute.
Key Responsibilities
Identifies areas of research in consultation with head of section.
Identifies sources of funding, prepare research proposals and submit funding applications.
Performs critical literature review and identify gaps in identified areas of research.
Plans and performs experiments and surveys.
Coordinates survey requests of IFAC and other entities.
Carries out quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Interprets data, analyses it and draws inferences and conclusions.
Collaborates with research teams,
industry stakeholders, government and international agencies.
Coordinates presentation of research results to the Committee/ Management/Council and other stakeholders.
Maintains accurate record of data collection results, tools and findings in accordance with the Institute’s policy.
Carries out any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of Education and Training.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree
Certified Public Accountant qualification is an advantage.
Experience
At least three (3) years of research experience.
