At MoTIV:

MoTIV is East Africa’s largest makerspace, we operate as a community-led factory and training facility.

We want to help both the cottage and localised industries of Uganda grow, by supporting them as an industry incubation service, offering training, product development & complimentary production capacity.

MoTIV Academy is the link between the growing Kampala production facility and any individual in the MoTIV Tribe interested in growing their production skills.

Your Role

The purpose of this role will be to support the ongoings of the Training Lead in the
development of:

• Maintaining relations between the upcoming MoTIV Academy and Ugandan recognised
education/accreditation bodies including BTVET, UGAPRIVI, MoES & DIT. Aligning with each of the mentioned accreditation bodies to best fulfil the needs of the trainees within the MoTIV Academy.

• Outreach through the available local network of NGOs, creative and youth agencies to best fulfill MoTIV’s student outcome and the longevity of training directed throughout MoTIV.

• Identifying, coordinating and cataloging Academy content within the Kampala facility and across regional training exercises.

• Monitoring and Evaluation of Academy outcomes

Responsibilities

The successful candidate is flexible and adaptive towards whatever is required of them at MoTIV. They must be energetic, a self-starter and capable of maintaining several projects at once.

Senior Training Associate will bridge between the Training Lead and all other members of the Training faculty to ensure the successful coordination

of the MoTIV Academy, Makerspace training, Accelerator programs external to the Kampala site and the Learning Management System (LMS) that will organise a library of original training curriculum.

Required Skill Set

• Experienced navigating relations within the education/ accreditation bodies within Uganda. (Uganda Business, Technical, Vocational Education and Training/ Directorate of Industrial Training/ Uganda Association of Private Vocational Institutions/ Ministry of Education and Sport/etc…)

• People Management – proven people management and experience leading a team of people, including entry level roles

• Computer literacy – high proficiency using Google Suite and Microsoft Office

• Strong communication and organisational skills maintaining the requests on the Training Lead

• Project Management – experience of implementing and refining multiple strategic project or pilot programmes; strong planning and programme management skills

• Self Starter – Proven ability to actively pursue and deliver on personal responsibilities without the requirement of rigid management
