Infectious Diseases Institute Research Nurse Jobs in Uganda

General Summary

The research Nurse’s primary role is to work with the health facilities to ensure that the study is conducted according to the study protocol.

Key Responsibilities

Provide study information to potential subjects prior to and during the consent
process.

Obtain and document informed participant consent

Document study procedures in participants care report forms

Perform blood draws as per study protocol

Provide nursing care to study participants

Transcribe all audio-recorded interviews

Schedule study participant visits

Conduct data quality control and assurance reviews

Perform any other study related duties as assigned

Person Specifications

Nursing degree or diploma (Registered) from a recognized education institution

GCP training and research experience is an added advantage

Up to date registration with Uganda Nurses’ and Midwives council

Excellent written and oral English communication skills

Ability to communicate to participants in the local language

Demonstrate knowledge and skills in nursing procedures and practices

Good counselling skills

Well-developed interpersonal skills and team player

Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, schedule and
manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Good computer skills
