Infectious Disease Institute Regional VMMC Mobilisation Officer Jobs in Uganda

Job Summary;

The Regional Mobilisation Officer will participate in the planning, designing and implementation of the project’s mobilization strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

He/she will be responsible for designing the regional mobilisation strategy, regional
mobilisation work plan, and will ensure mapping of VMMC camping and outreach sites as well as coordinate mobilisation activities in the region.

Participating in designing, implementation and monitoring of VMMC activities in supported health facilities in line with MoH and PEPFAR guidelines.

Participate in the implementation of the demand creation plan for SMC services amongst the communities in the targeted districts of Uganda over the project life.

Adopt the existing MOH SMC mobilization strategy to suit the different project sites.

Participate in the mobilization of clients for circumcision across all the project sites.

Work with the site mobilisers to ensure the region achieves regional VMMC targets in
accordance with institutional and funder guidelines.

Develop and disseminate SMC and HIV prevention messages in appropriate languages targeting primary and secondary audiences in the communities.

Engage CBOs and other partners to drum up support for SMC.

Education Requirements:

Degree in social work and Social Administration, Social Sciences or any related field.

At least 2-3 years working experience in a related field.

Possession of a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning will be added advantage.

Experience working in a medical setting, knowledge of the local languages (Madi ,Kakwa,
Alur, Lugbara) and some understanding of HIV/AIDS is highly desirable.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

Good communication skills.

Good computer presentation skills.

Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team

Ability to communicate with clients in local languages is highly desirable
