ILRI Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning Support Specialist Jobs in Kenya

Responsibilities

Contributing to the design and implementation of the Livestock CGIAR Research Program (CRP’s) MELIA framework, including the incorporation of social learning tools and approaches.

Supporting research teams in developing and documenting their research strategies and annual plans of work and budget within a Theory of Change framework that defines the necessary activities and approaches to produce outputs that will translate into research and development outcomes and the eventual targeted impact. This will involve:

Facilitating team planning and review sessions with ILRI and partner staff;

Ensuring quality and consistency in documenting results;

Managing activity-specific budgets.

Supporting CRP country teams in developing and implementing a context-specific system for monitoring changes resulting from CRP research and engagement in the country, including:

Defining appropriate indicators and methods for data collection;

Monitoring the quality of M&E data collected.

Collecting, managing and analyzing research information, including:

Leading the establishment and maintenance of a database of program performance indicator data;

Maintaining the Livestock CRP Flagship data included in the CGIAR shared online platform (MARLO).

Writing reports and preparing presentations for CRP Management on M&E topics.

Planning and implementing capacity development activities

with ILRI and partner staff.

Reviewing TORs for evaluations and impact assessments and providing inputs on draft consultancy reports.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in a relevant scientific/agricultural discipline

At least five (5) years substantive experience in conceptualizing monitoring and evaluation system incorporating learning and feedback mechanism for agricultural development.

Good understanding of monitoring and evaluation methods including Theory of Change

Experience in data entry and analysis

Fluent in English, with French or Spanish an advantage

Excellent writing and presentation skills

Computer literacy in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Attention to detail
