ILRI Human Resources Manager Jobs in Ethiopia
The International Centre of Insect Physiology & Ecology (icipe) seeks to hire a Human Resources Officer. Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, this position will support the recruitment, compensation & benefits, training & development and performance management aspects of the HR function.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in problem solving and identification and implementation of creative solutions to achieve human resource management goals. She/he will be a member of icipe Ethiopia office which is located at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Responsibilities:
Actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting vacancy advertisement and managing the hiring process
Drawing up plans for future personnel hiring procedures and goals and updating job requirements when needed;
Organizes the periodic orientation for new employees and coordinates with other units to facilitate the process
Performs background checks as required by the centre
Provides information on employee compensation and benefits programs
Handles staff compensation and benefit administration including managing employees’ pension contributions, medical insurance, Group Life Term and Group Personal Accident insurance policies, and liaises
with insurers
Participates in review of human resources policies, systems, strategies, and prepares, compiles and document various periodical HR reports
Follows up that staff performance plan and appraisal activity is carried out on time, checks salary increment, promotion, reclassification, etc. are made in accordance with established policies
Handles staff exit management and related activities, ensures exit interview form is filled by departing staff and ensures that their clearance is complete
Maintains employee records and other human resource files
Requirements:
BA degree preferably in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or equivalent.
Minimum of five years’ work experience in Human Resources policies and practices, preferable with an international organizations or NGOs and good knowledge of HR best practices and standards.
Fully conversant with labor law and practices
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound advice
Proactive, result-oriented and service-oriented
Attention to details, accuracy and timeliness in executing assigned responsibilities
