IJM Procurement & Logistics Volunteer Jobs in Uganda
Roles and Responsibilities: Ensures implementation of the procurement plans and strategies for the procurement of all relevant goods and services for the country program
Supports Management in Contracts Management including preparation and issue of contracts and monitoring implementation
Developing and Providing necessary bid documents to prospecting suppliers of goods and services to the Country program
Advises the Contracts Committee, user departments and suppliers on the correct procurement procedures and recommended procurement methods and specifications.
Liaises with User Departments and the suppliers to ensure timely delivery of the procured goods and services and the corresponding payments.
Supports Management in taking early action to identify and address poor contractor and supplier performance.
References, verifies and manages the procurement and disposal documentation and ensures their safe custody.
Helps to coordinate advertisement and sell of bid documents and maintaining a suppliers list.
Coordinates the receipt, opening and evaluation of the procurement bids in liaison with the technical experts and user departments.
Support the operations team to coordinate the IJM Uganda’s overall Procurement strategy.
Participate in IJM programs to develop professionalism and Christian formation.
Assist in hosting guests, visitors, and volunteers.
Supervisory:
The Procurement & Logistics Volunteer reports to the Lead, Human resources.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Procurement or relevant field.
Two or more years of experience in a similar position.
Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
Technical Competencies:**
Understanding of the procurement policies, procedures, processes and cycle.
Non-Technical Competencies:
Mature orthodox Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed.
Passionate commitment to IJM’s mission and
values.
Professional in demeanor, appearance, writing and oral communication.
Works well under stress with a sustained positive attitude.
Exceptionally high level of honesty and integrity.
