iJenga Quantity Surveyor Job Vacancies in Kenya

Roles

Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.

Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.

Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies.

Perform risk, value management and cost control.

Advise on a procurement strategy.

Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.

Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.

Allocate work to subcontractors.

Provide advice on contractual claims.

Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.

Value completed work and arrange payments.

Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.

Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.

Support operational, office and administrative activities.

Offer advice on property taxation.

Provide post-occupancy advice,

facilities management services and life-cycle costing advice.

Assist clients in locating and accessing additional and alternative sources of funding.

Enable clients to initiate construction projects.

Advice on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.

Job Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying.

Must be a member of IQSK, BORAQS.

5-6 years experience as Senior QS with a bias in commercial and contractual Management, estimation and tendering in building construction.

Should have vast knowledge in cost reporting and contract administration.

Excellent in using CCS and other estimation software.

Ability to manage FIDIC, JCT and NEC.

International exposure with East African experience will be an added advantage.

Good team player.

Ability to work without supervision.

Very keen attention to details.

Report writing skills.
