ICS Saving and Credit Association Accountant Jobs in Ethiopia
Role PurposeMeet the needs of our members and employees by providing quick and accurate service in a professional manner.
Performs a variety of accounting duties according to established credit union policies and procedures.
Posts appropriate entries to ledger accounts, prepares reports and reconciliations; and performs other accounting duties as required. Responsible for providing a variety of functions for members in person, via phone, and through the email.
Serves members and team members promptly and professionally.
Roles and Responsibilities
Make credit decisions within assigned authority
Initiate process improvement & quality reviews to simplify & improve services
Accountable for the entire granting process, periodic credit review & assessment of credit worthiness
Introduce new loan system, promote, & communication with members
Manage operations & profitability of the association
Organize and manage association member file as per required by governing body
Develop management reporting
Document financial transactions by entering account information
Prepare and follow up on monthly loan repayment schedule
Log the
monthly contribution and loan repayment on members ledger
Calculate the yearly dividend & monthly interest gained for each member
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare financial statements
Research and suggest other business ideas that the association may involve
Handle government obligations like reporting monthly income tax
Handle audit related works
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Accounting & Finance or related field
Experience
Minimum 4 years working experience in Finance, Accounting, Accounting & Finance related to credit association
Additional Requirements
Proven work experience as a saving & credit or similar role
Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
Proficiency in accounting software
Solid analytical and decision-making skills
Leadership abilities
Basic Computer skill
