Job Profile:
  • Reporting to the Senior Manager Public Policy and Research, the Senior Officer shall position the Institute as an influential public interest leader in accountability and economic governance.

    Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Institute in promptly addressing topical issues in governance and
    accountability through the generation of position papers on matters of ICPAK’s
    expertise
  • Enhance the Institute’s participation in forums on governance and
    accountability
  • Represent the Institute in key national forums and events
  • Develop memoranda on key governance, accountability and public finance
    issues in the country
  • Lobby on behalf of members on matters that create value to them
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with the Institute’s
    stakeholders in areas of mutual and public interest
  • Initiate and manage strategic alliances for the furtherance of the mandate of
    the Institute.
  • Engage in policy development to supporting underpin legislation
  • Undertake review of money/Finance Bills and other relevant pieces of
    legislation
  • Proactively develop submissions for consideration on core issues affecting the
    country, the accountancy profession and the economy at large.
  • Drive effective participation of the
    Institute in the legislative process at county, national and regional levels
  • Monitor the existing body of legislation and propose amendments as
    appropriate
  • Champion the devolution agenda by leveraging on the Institute’s branch
    network

    Person Specifications:
  • Be a citizen of Kenya
  • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
  • Holder of Bachelors Degree in Economics, Public Policy, Accounting, Business,
    Law, or related fields
  • Relevant post graduate qualification will be an added advantage
  • 5 years working experience with at least 4 years in a Public Policy or Research
    environmentl
