Job DescriptionIAK Agrar Consulting GmbH is a German agricultural consulting company with almost 40 years of experience in the field of consulting in the agriculture and rural development sectors in Germany and abroad.
Since 1981 we have been implementing agricultural projects in developing and emerging countries on behalf of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), EU, World Bank and other public and private clients in more than 30 countries worldwide.
We are currently planning to submit a bit for a GIZ tender.
The project “Technical cooperation with Federal Republic of Ethiopia” aims at laying the methodological and legal foundations for future land consolidation procedures.
The responsible authorities shall be prepared for being able to plan and prepare land consolidation procedures independently.
For this reason, the capacities of staff at relevant national and regional authorities as well as civil society organisations will be strengthened.
The contractor will be responsible for the following outputs:
Output 1: Methods and approaches for awareness-raising and preparation phases for land
consolidation procedures as well as voluntary land exchange in pilot areas have been tested;
Output 2: Skills of employees of the responsible authorities and private service providers have een strengthened.
Selected Tasks
Provide guidance to the international team leader and other team members towards the coordination of
the project with stakeholders on the regional and local levels;
Represent the project if and when appropriate, e.g. in the absence of the Team Leader in case of his/her absence;
Support the development of criteria for the selection of pilot areas;
Advising the LCCs on planning communal and public systems;
Support the planning and implementing small-scale infrastructure;
Providing advice on voluntary plot exchange among groups of land owners;
Identifying complaints and conflict-resolution mechanisms and anti-corruption measures;
Provide input and assistance to project M&E, reporting and administration.
Job Requirements
Qualification and Skills
Education/training: Postgraduate university degree in geography, land management and administration, geodesy, spatial planning, or a similar discipline;
General professional experience: 10 years of professional experience in the land management sector; Seite 2/2
Specific professional experience: Track record for work related to land issues such as land tenure, land-ownership rights, agricultural production land, land consolidation, institutional setup, cadastre (land registration), land reform, land surveys, organizational development and capacity building for land-related institutions, etc.
Leadership experience: Track record as (national) project coordinator, team leader, or similar assignments.
